PARSIPPANY – Nearly 3,000 supporters of the #blacklivesmatter movement protested peacefully from Parsippany High School to Veterans Park.

The large group assembled and grouped in the fields and parking lot at Parsippany High School shortly before 6:00PM. At roughly 6:30PM, #EyesOnNJ News cameras caught up with the protest marching south-bound down Vail Rd near the intersection of Miriam Court & Vail Rd.

A protest organizer originally advised #EyesOnNJ News with an estimate of 1,000+ participators. #EyesOnNJ News later spoke with Frank Cahill of Parsippany Focus who relayed an estimate given to him by law enforcement exceeded 3,000 participants.

Chants of “Black Lives Matter!” “Say his name, George Floyd!” were heard repeatedly through the march.

Portions of Route 46 were shut down completely in both directions while the protest march was in progress.

Speakers took the podium to speak, preach, pray and sing raising awareness on the police brutality and the recent death of George Floyd.
