TETERBORO – Jay Z takes 18 minute flight from Newark Airport to Teterboro Airport Spilling 1 ton of CO-2 waste into the air.

Former NJ resident, Shawn Corey Carter, who some know under his stage name as Jay Z, recently chartered a flight on his personal Gulfstream 5 from Newark NJ to a distant destination many could only dream of flying to, Teterboro airport.

The 18 minute flight departed July 29 at 4:00pm from Newark and touched down swiftly at 4:18pm at Teterboro airport after spilling 1 ton of CO2 emissions according to twitter account CelebJets by Jack Sweeney.

Had Mr. Z opted to reduce his carbon footprint for the 16 mile journey, he could have taken a 23 minute car ride on the NJ turnpike or to save on tolls he could take state route 1&9 for a 29 minute adventure and could potentially wave to his fans along the way.

To put this into perspective, the average car emits 411 grams of CO-2 emissions for every mile it travels. Now since we are talking about Young Hov, let’s review a more realistic example. A 2021 Mercedes Benz G Wagon Diesel emits 478 grams of CO-2 for each mile it travels. At 16 miles, that would come to 7,648 grams of emissions. Now, that sounds like a lot, but when presented with visuals, the answer is clear.

In 2019, Jay-Z and his wife Beyonce called upon their fans to go vegan to reduce their impact on the environment and follow The Greenprint Project, a literature and lifestyle brand supported by the very same musicians.

According to mint.com, Jay-Z came in at number 3 on the list of top CO-2 polluters after producing 6,981.3 tonnes of waste from his personal jet this year alone. Just above Hove at number 2 on the list is boxing legend Floyd Mayweather at 7,076.8 tonnes and at number one with 8,293.54 tonnes of CO-2 emissions produced this year is Taylor Swift.
