POINT PLEASANT BEACH – The Freedom March of NJ took place at the municipal lot in the Ocean County shore town last Monday.

The Open NJ movement operated the event from 11:00AM – 3:00PM with the permission of Point Pleasant Mayor Paul M Kanitra at Little Silver Lake. Ayla Wolf, the host-speaker, kept spirits high with participants with high energy chants and cheers.

Speakers at the event included American Idol contestant Brianna Taylor, NJ Senator Joe Pennacchio, Senate candidates Rik Mehta & Hirsh Singh, NJ gym owners Ian Smith & Kyle Newell and their attorney & Tommy Trvilivas and many more.

At about 12:00pm, the venue’s sound system was disabled suddenly. Ayla Wolf advised the audience that local police had shut it down. After crowd yells of “Turn it on!” were directed at the region of the sound engineering space, #EyesOnNJ cameras captured a police officer in close proximity to the DJ booth. In a matter of moments the officer quickly left and the audio system was reinstated.

#EyesOnNJ News first learned of the Open NJ group at a protest in Trenton, NJ where protestor was charged by police.
