LINDEN – Parents of Linden High School student confront Exxon Shop manager after selling a 21+ Delta-8 shot to their child.

A Linden parent claims this Exxon is selling more than sweets and treats to Linden’s youth. The mother tells EyesOnNJ that she found her child in a state of confusion and unresponsiveness after consuming the product.

In a video shared with EyesOnNJ, On September 22nd, a minor went into the Exxon Shop wearing clothing with Linden High School markings and was able to purchase an Effex Fruit Punch Delta-8 Shot.

When confronted by the parents, the gentleman wearing the blue Exxon shirt who identified himself as the manager appeared to be amused throughout the disgruntled parent’s remarks of the illegal sale.

The parent shared receipts with #EyesOnNJ documenting transactions dating back as far as October 8, 2021.

“Delta 8 is less harmful than ubiquitous beer ads. Parents and guardians should safeguard their children. The State does not have the capacity to protect every child from every bad actor. Cannabis will not kill you like alcohol and cersosis (sic) of the liver or like tobacco and lung cancer.” – HeadyNJ.com Editor Dan Ulloa

The FDA has received reports that some users whom ingested Delta-8 THC had adverse events including, but not limited to: hallucinations, vomiting, tremor, anxiety, dizziness, confusion, and loss of consciousness.

An anonymous expert in the cannabis business operations sector advised EyesOnNJ that Delta 8 is a by-product of a cannabinoid and has similar effects to straight regular THC, but not the psychosis that comes with it. The user may feel high but is not technically high. He advised, because the levels of THC are extremely low, NJ merchants are allowed to stock these products in retail stores which welcome patrons of all ages but are legally required to card buyers.
