TRENTON, NJ – A female non-profit executive director and protest organizer was violently removed by NJ State Police at a public senate committee hearing at the New Jersey Statehouse Monday morning.

Sue Altman, executive director to NJ Working Families Alliance, was in attendance at Monday’s special senate committee hearing in which George Norcross III was scheduled to speak and give testimony regarding his company’s use of incredible tax incentives in Camden.

Tom Moran of the Star Ledger writes in a recent article: “I can hardly believe what I just witnessed: The State Police grabbing Sue Altman by the arms, and muscling her out of the Senate hearing room. She pushed back, but two troopers pulled her out, and she fell to the ground as they did so.”

Sue Altman organized her team’s protestors to be in attendance for the early Monday November 18, 2019 statehouse meeting.

George Norcross is regarded as a high profile insurance executive and a top 5 most powerful business man by NJBiz.com

In June of 2019, a NJ task force investigating tax incentives found firms with tied to Norcross possibly mislead state officials by making claims that jobs would be relocated to Philadelphia if tax credits were not received.

In the statehouse hearing room, protestors and supporters were exchanging words and yells of “FBI!” and “Down with King George”

Outside the hearing room, activists including Stacey Gregg who was live-streaming her account of the day, were barred from entering the hearing room for almost an hour due to room capacity claims.

A tweet from Sue Altman showed vacant seats reserved for “Cherry Hill busses”

Outside the hearing room, Stacey Gregg speaks with an elderly female union member wearing a Sheet Metal Workers Local 19 shirt. The union worker was unsure of why she was there but indicated to questions raised by Jim Keady that she was directed by her union to be in attendance.

Jim Keady later advises an elected official that two gentleman wearing blue suits with visitor tags were granted entrance to the hearing room with priority.

Keady goes on to say the NJ State Trooper monitoring the entrance advised “they’re with Senator Norcross.” The full video provided by Stacey Gregg shows all.
